Former Well-known Brazilian Footballer – Pelé

As a retired professional footballer of the Brazil national football team, Pelé is widely taken as one of the most excellent football players. He was born in Edson Arantes do Nascimento on 23 October 1940. In 1999, he was assessed as the World Player of the Century. And in 1999, he was elected as the Athlete of the Century by IOC. Having scored 1281 goals in 1363 games throughout the whole playing career, he is regarded as the most successful and the best-paid footballer across the world.


He started his service for Santos and the Brazil national football team when he aged 15 and 16. He won three FIFA World Cups in 1958, 1962 and in 1970 respectively, becoming the single one player who reached these achievements. He is the top goal-scorer for Santos, and help the club enter into the 1962 and 1963 Copa Libertadores. Pelé’s exciting performance and strong appetite for goals leaves him a well-known footballer across the world. Although without Brazil football shirt manufactured by high technology, he achieved incomparable achievements and reputation from all over the world.
